About the Role

The Head of New Business plays a critical role Cornerstone Sales & Commercial Team. The main purpose of the role is to establish strategic partnerships with key stakeholders across commercial Mobile Operations, including Networks, Planning, Business and Executive functions, to drive sustained revenue growth and secure mutually beneficial contracts for Cornerstone.

The Head of New Business will be accountable for strategically leading and shaping the team to develop value propositions and leading the sales cycle from initial contract through to contract closure and driving the business to exceed sales targets and drive overall business revenue and growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the formulation & execution of a strategic business development plan aligned with customer objectives, focusing on the UK market. Support & work collaboratively with the CSCO to execute plans that drive strategic growth for Cornerstone, encompassing internal and external initiatives tailored to our account needs, both within and beyond designated accounts. The role holder will also be responsible for maintaining a strategic understanding of how all aspects of the digital infrastructure market is developing (products, pricing, competition, channels).
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities across diverse industry sectors. Conduct in-depth market research to understand customer needs and industry trends. Develop compelling value propositions that highlight the benefits of our Power as a service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), and Coverage as a service (CaaS) solutions. Lead the sales cycle from initial contact through to proposal generation and contract closure. Manage and develop a robust sales pipeline, ensuring consistent deal flow. Exceed assigned sales targets and contribute to the company's revenue growth objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers at potential and existing customer accounts. Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including technical experts and Strategic Account Leads.
  • Educate potential and existing customers on how Cornerstone solutions can benefit them both financially and professionally. Explore the wider ecosystem for new products, market conditions and changing customer needs. Lead and foster engagement and relationship-building efforts across the stakeholder landscape
  • Foster a coaching culture to cultivate a high-performance team, identifying and developing internal successors for critical roles. Demonstrate and exemplify exceptional stakeholder management skills, collaborating closely with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with all contractual commitments. Lead by example and actively contribute to our leadership team as we cultivate a culture centered on our values and commitment to inclusions. Create an environment conducive to continuous improvement, learning and high performance to deliver against business Objectives and Key Results. Take accountability for own personal development, role modelling Cornerstone behaviors and values and influencing others to do the same. Support the shaping & execution of our early careers’ strategy through potential graduate level leadership.


Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent experience in business development or a related sales role. Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and achieving revenue growth. Strong understanding of the mobile infrastructure landscape, ideally with experience in PaaS, IaaS, and CaaS solutions
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to build strong relationships and manage customer expectations effectively. Highly analytical and data-driven approach to business development activities. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent time management and organizational skills
