The role
Head of Contract Management with Smart DCC
London, Nottingham, or Manchester

Role
We’re looking for an experienced Contract Manager who is commercially focused and uses their initiative to drive results from the supply chain and leads on contract negotiations which drives the best value for money.
The Contract Management Team are responsible for the management of DCCs strategic, high value and complex contracts from contract signature to end of life. The team ensures that the suppliers deliver the value, quality, and compliance in line with the contract and performance obligations as set out. The team manage in-life change to our existing contracts.
What will you be doing?
· Accountable for all the Contracts and Suppliers that sit across 5 service families covering over £6bn of 3rd party spend over the coming decade. Holding all resources that sit within the 5 service s families accountable for the management of their Contracts and Suppliers
· Accountable for ensuring that the contracts and services are performing in line with the obligations set out in the agreements and that they deliver seamless supply of products and services to DCC.
· Providing commercial thought leadership for DCC, based on insights, to deliver a step change in the way we manage and deliver our contracts.
· Management and delivery of complex contracts and strategies in a regulated environment
· Extensive Executive Stakeholder Management
· Responsible for setting challenging targets for the team to deliver year-on-year efficiency and economic improvements.
What are we looking for?
· Extensive Contract Management experience; creating & managing complex contracts.
· Extensive strategic and complex management experience
· A good working knowledge of all aspects of the ‘commercial lifecycle
· Experience of working in a transformation environment where influencing skills are required.
· Ability to create functional strategy through a process of consultation with stakeholders.
· Strong written and verbal communication. Able to moderate style to ensure effective communication to all stakeholders in a complex environment.
Technical
• Extensive Contract Management experience; creating & managing complex contracts.
• Extensive strategic and complex management experience.
• A good working knowledge of all aspects of the ‘commercial and operational lifecycle’
• Ability to think creatively to solve ill-defined and complex contract management challenges.
• A solution driven, innovator, focusing on total cost and value creation.
• Strong attention to detail
• Removing barriers to value creation, through the implementation of negotiation strategies
• Experience of working in a transformation environment where influencing skills are required.
Interpersonal
• Open, collaborative, and engaging style
• Strong written and verbal communication. Able to moderate style to ensure effective communication to all stakeholders in a complex environment.
• Ability to navigate and drive commercial and operational outcomes in an audited, regulated and process driven environment.
• Excellent commercial awareness and thought leadership.
• Self-starter, resilient and tenacious under pressure
• Focus on driving commercial and operational benefits.

• Experience in effective stakeholder management to drive commercial benefits.
