Head of Commercial Finance | E-commerce / Retail | Hybrid (Central London)

Simpson Judge has partnered with a scale-up e-commerce retailer with offices globally.

After a successful 2023, the business is entering a new stage of growth and are further expanding their team.

This newly created role will work closely with the CFO and other senior stakeholders to inform key business decisions, lead the commercial finance function and implement strategic initiatives that drive growth internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide actionable financial insights to support marketing, logistics, and operational strategies that help drive enhanced contribution margin.
• Develop and maintain KPIs including return on ad spend and contribution margin to measure business performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to forecast revenue, profitability, and cash flow that underpins 3-year plan and fundraising processes.
• Analyse market trends, competitor performance, and internal data to inform strategic business decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams particularly Data, eComm, Marketing, Operations, Data and Product/Tech teams), external partners, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CA) with significant post-qualified experience
• Strong experience within a relevant industry (E-commerce / Retail / FMCG)
• Advanced Excel/Gsheets and ERP systems experience (Netsuite preferable)
• Experience with direct reports and people management
