Requirements

As the Group Management Accountant , you will support the business's growth organically and via M&A by producing management accounts, partnering with commercial and support functions, and providing analysis for ad hoc projects. You will also be instrumental in the budgeting and forecasting processes, leading the Group’s audits and managing tax affairs.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Deliver monthly and annual reports, engaging with business owners to understand cost budget movements.
  • Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting procedures, preparing accurate management accounts with variance analysis and commentary.
  • Support the finance team with budgeting and forecasting, focusing on cost lines and the Group’s cash flows.
  • Act as the main contact for statutory/SRA auditors, coordinating with the wider finance team and business to address queries.
  • Manage the relationship with external tax advisors for corporation tax, ensuring timely returns and payments.
  • Prepare VAT/P32 returns and payments.
  • Assist with migrating and integrating acquired businesses into financial reporting systems and processes.
  • Provide line management and guidance to two team members (trainee/assistant management accountant and purchase ledger).
  • Assist with projects as required and conduct ad-hoc analysis to deliver key information for decision-making.
  • Support the People team with the monthly payroll process.

Note: This list of main duties is not exhaustive and may be amended to meet business needs.

Other Skills and Attributes:

  • Fully qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with previous experience in a Management Accounts role.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel; experience with Sage Payroll is preferable.
  • Excellent communicator, effective in written and verbal interactions with colleagues across the business.
  • Strong analytical skills, identifying correlations and patterns within data sets.
  • Confident in a changing environment, adaptable to varying tasks to meet business needs.
  • Organised, self-starter, and team player, capable of managing a team to ensure timely reporting deadlines are met.

Hours & Salary:

  • £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience
  • 35 Hours (Full-time) Monday – Friday
  • Flexible working, minimum 20% working from the office - commutable to Leeds/Harrogate/Wetherby
