Team Description & Responsibilities:

As the Global Communications Manager , you will be responsible for developing and executing Basware's Global PR & Communications Strategy. You will help manage internal and external communications for Basware with a focus on public relations, social media, and internal communications in order to tell our story across our key audiences and ensure Basware is a thought leader across trending topics in our business domain.

This role reports to the Global Head of PR & Communications and sits within Basware’s global marketing organisation. You will be working within a small communications team, under wider marketing, and have responsibilities around managing a PR agency.

This new position has been created to increase emphasis on communications and storytelling within Basware's growth strategy. You will play a key role as the voice of the organization, protect and improve its reputation, and connect employees to the business strategy and growth culture.

You will have the chance to partner closely with Proposition Marketing, Demand Generation & Brand Marketing as well as HR to ensure our PR, internal communications and social strategy is well executed and aligns with our global go-to-market strategy. You will have close communications with the Basware Executive Team and assist in crafting engaging and impactful stories that help with thought leadership, content marketing, awards, change management, customer and partner marketing.

This will include managing an editorial calendar mapping to business objectives, product announcements, events, and business news at a global and local level, with emphasis on the key markets of US, UK, France & Germany. You will have the opportunity to influence Basware's communications operating model, including processes, tools, and data to drive impact.

Skills & Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar hands-on communications role with a focus on PR, social, and internal communications
  • Demonstrable success in executing creative PR campaigns and communications strategies, alongside measurable outcomes
  • Experience of working at or partnering closely with PR agencies, optimising them for success
  • Experience in the spectrum of communication activities - press releases, byline articles, commentary, media interviews, award entries, internal comms, social media
  • Ability to draft cool and engaging content and track measurement on LinkedIn, both on corporate profiles and through employee advocacy
  • Great writing and verbal communication skills. Good attention to detail that can turn a brief into a compelling story narrative
  • Comfortable presenting to audiences and 'being a voice' in a room
  • Competent communications advisor that can challenge the status quo and consult senior stakeholders
  • Customer and sales oriented, and can align communications activities and results to wider marketing i.e. demand generation, brand awareness, SEO, LinkedIn engagement and employee advocacy
  • Passion for using data and measurement to track impact of communication activity
  • Ability to execute employee newsletters, Town Hall meetings and internal events, including our annual kick-off meeting
  • Experience in internal communications, working closely with HR and other teams to drive brand affinity through strong content and showcase the best of Basware's people and growth culture
  • Ability to work within a small team, and partner with globally distributed teams
  • Passion for trending industry topics within technology and finance, such as AI and Sustainability
  • Understanding of news cycles within the US, UK, and European markets
  • Graphic design or video editing skills is a bonus
  • Willingness to travel across Europe for communication programmes where required
  • Native English fluency level
