We are seeking a newly qualified accountant to join a Private Markets fund that manages c. £14bn of capital and invests across a wide variety of sectors of behalf a public investment base.

The firm has a multitude of products and strategies as part of it's private markets offering, such as alternative assets, equities and fund-of-funds and the Fund Accountant will have the opportunity to work across all in a broad capacity.

Reporting directly to the Head of Funds, the Fund Accountant's remit includes fund finance, vendor management, legal operations, risk & data management, and tax reporting as well as ad-hoc special projects.

Responsibilities (not limited to)

• Deliver accurate and timely NAV calculations, financial statements, and relevant sections of the quarterly investor reports.
• Ensure that commitments, drawdowns and redemptions are efficiently executed.
• Assist with the oversight of relationships with external service providers.
• Assist with the implementation of robust risk management practices.
• Develop, update and maintain procedures and ensure these comply with internal policies.
• Identify areas for improvement in reporting dataflows and implement measures to streamline processes, enhance timeliness and accuracy, and reduce operational risks.
• Oversee accurate and timely tax reporting.
• Work closely with investment and investor relations teams to address operational queries.
• Assist or lead on ad hoc projects assigned such as fund launches, regulatory or process changes.

Skills

• Educated to university level, with a minimum 2:1 bachelors degree.
• Newly qualified ACA with experience from a reputable accountancy practice firm.
• Experience working with private markets funds desirable and if not, good knowledge and understanding of fund structures.
• Strong demonstrated self-motivation and high level of initiative.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
