We’re searching for an FP&A Analyst in Bristol  to join our team of free thinkers and collaborators.

Sitting within the Financial Planning & Analytics (FP&A) function, this role will provide data insight to drive action within the business and optimise performance.

The FP&A Analyst will interrogate data, identify trends and insights, and, working with the wider FP&A team, support the business in the implementation of new successful candidate will provide regular and in-depth analysis on our performance as well as maintaining a suite of reporting, across historical and forecast results.

A role less ordinary.

  • Provide insight to drive action within the business, completing scenario modelling efforts for the improvement of company performance across a wide range of areas, including analysis versus comp set performance
  • Benchmarking and reporting on profitability by property, route to market, length of stay or room type
  • Through variance and trend analysis, identify forecast gaps and improve ongoing forecast accuracy
  • Obsess about data quality, managing gaps and troubleshoot as required
  • Enhance reporting capability, eg automation of external benchmarking datasets
  • Support the monthly trading review forum, including maintaining the action log and holding people accountable for delivery of actions to an agreed timeframe
  • Updating key reports required by the business on a monthly and quarterly basis to support strategic decisions (e.g. gross operating profit reporting, return on sale)

    We are looking for a passionate and positive financial practitioner who wants to make a difference and contribute to the continuous improvement of the business processes and results through a structured way of working that challenges current practices.

    The candidate should be highly capable, enthusiastic, motivated, with a sharp attention to detail and able to learn new processes, systems, and tasks quickly. You should thrive in working to short and moving deadlines and will be able to manage multiple priorities. The successful candidate will also possess cxcellent system and modelling skills (IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), Excel, PowerBI, Business Modelling tools and other related systems

    They will be able to analyse a range of information sources but be able to quickly identify the key variables and scenarios that will determine the success of a decision. As well as an acumen for numbers and logical problems, they should have good commercial insight and communication skills and with the confidence to challenge others to improve company performance 

  • Qualified Management or Financial Accountant with first time passes.
  • A II:I or better University degree (ideally in a business-related course) from a reputable University.
  • Experience of creating and running processes and reports
  • Experience of using a range of business intelligence and accounting systems
  • Experience of problem solving and finding causality in numbers

    Based in Bristol, ad hoc travel to the London office expected.

    Our core working hours are 9 to 5:30 and we expect individuals to work from our offices or properties 3 days per week. We support working flexibly – this includes flexibility in work location, working days and working hours.
