How you'll make an impact
Reporting to the FPA Manager, the FP&A Analyst will play a vital role in responsibility for optimising business performance, using data analytics, to realise the ambitious growth plans of the platform.
- Provide insight to drive action within the business, completing scenario modelling efforts for the improvement of company performance across a wide range of areas, including analysis versus comp set performance
- Benchmarking and reporting on profitability by property, route to market, length of stay or room type
- Define clear criteria to identify underperforming assets and, working cross functionally, support the improvement in performance of these assets over time
- Support the FP&A team on wider change programmes and improvements - driving and implementing improvements with internal and external stakeholders.
- Through variance and trend analysis, identify forecast gaps and improve ongoing forecast accuracy
- Provide a continuous feedback loop regarding accuracy of forecast, and maintain a log of risks and opportunities within the plan
- Support the annual business planning process through critical review of asset level performance
- Obsess about data quality, managing gaps and troubleshoot as required
- Enhance reporting capability, eg automation of external benchmarking datasets
- Support the monthly trading review forum, including maintaining the action log and holding people accountable for delivery of actions to an agreed timeframe
- Updating key reports required by the business on a monthly and quarterly basis to support strategic decisions (e.g. gross operating profit reporting, return on sale)
- Maintaining data within our business modelling system (IBM Planning Analytics (TM1)), to ensure the accuracy and integrity of information available to the business

- CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified
- Building cross functional relationships

- Experience of using a range of business intelligence and accounting systems
- Analyse a range of information sources but be able to quickly identify the key variables and important areas of focus and build scenarios that will determine the success of a decision across a spectrum of considerations.
- Excellent system and modelling skills, ability to learn this quickly (role uses IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), Excel, PowerBI, Business Modelling tools and other related systems)
