The Role

As a continually growing business and as part of our commitment to regulatory compliance and risk management, we are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our new onboarding team as a Financial Crime Analyst.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough Know Your Customer checks on new and existing customers to ensure compliance with UK financial services regulatory requirements, through reviewing and analysing customer documentation, verifying identity, and assessing the risk associated with the client.
  • Understanding and investigating high risk customers identified through the screening of Sanctions, PEPs and Adverse Media and applying enhanced due diligence (EDD) accordingly.
  • Managing the customer’s onboarding journey, taking ownership of KYC reviews and maintaining regular customer contact where necessary.
  • Conducting periodic reviews and event driven reviews on existing customers.
  • Escalate complex issues to the wider financial crime team and MLRO.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer information and due diligence activities.
  • Taking responsibility for continuous learning of anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and relevant laws and guidelines.
  • Working closely with other departments, including Legal, Compliance, and Customer Services, to address KYC-related issues and provide support.

What we’re looking for

We value simplicity, communication, teamwork, trust, and confidence.

These core values are what make us tick and keep us all on the same page; not just with how we work individually, but how we engage with each other and the service we offer.

  • Bachelor's degree (desirable).
  • AML/KYC qualification, such as ICA (desirable).
  • 3 years in a financial crime analyst with responsibilities including adverse media and sanction screening.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills alongside experience of transaction monitoring.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Experience dealing with customers over the phone and excellent written skills.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and decisions.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Be adaptable to the challenges of a growing business.

What we give you in return

  • Salary of £24,000 – £27,500 depending on experience
  • 24 days' holiday a year, plus bank holidays (you’ll earn an extra day holiday for each full year you’re with us, up to 28 days).
  • Hybrid/remote working options.
  • Flexible working hours, in line with business needs.
  • Buy and sell up to 5 days of holiday per year.

And we have plenty of perks, too!

Annual bonus between 0-20% of your annual salary, which is linked to both company and individual performance.

  • Private medical insurance.
  • Death in service cover (x3 your annual salary).
  • Income protection insurance.
  • Company pension plan.
  • Healthify: a team to support the health and wellbeing of all staff at Wealthify.
  • Ministry of Fun: providing plenty of social activities and events throughout the year.
  • Offices in the picturesque Penarth Marina.
  • Free office gym.
  • Free parking nearby.
  • A collaboration space and games room.

We’re a responsible company, and are constantly working to improve our culture, ethics, impact on the environment, and contribution to charitable causes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join a dynamic, fun, and friendly company.
