Labour Finance Analyst - 60k

Location - Islington (Hybrid)

Role Purpose:

Working as part of finance supporting the Operations team to deliver accurate Sales & Labour forecasts for our restaurant estate to ensure we maximise productivity and sales.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for restaurant sales & labour forecasting and reporting using fourth analytics to support.
  • Develop a ‘right fit’ sales and labour forecast cycle and engage with all user groups.
  • Compile, validate and analyse sales and resource data to support activity planning, manage the workload forecast and plan resourcing.
  • Define the detailed labour model which is used to establish the company’s labour resource requirements.
  • Review actual labour used vs forecast and facilitate action planning to address any gaps with user groups.
  • Lead the delivery of the annual budget process for labour and any formal re-forecasts during the year.
  • The role will require travel to sites to provide training and coaching to restaurant teams to drive improvements in labour spend, T&A compliance and forecast accuracy.
  • Improve the quality and efficiency of the sales and labour forecasting and planning processes. · Agree, implement, and monitor strategic resourcing and resourcing plans and manage the differences between plans and actual requirements.
  • Development, production, communication, and ongoing renewal of user guides across all user groups.
  • Build the financial modelling to assess the impact of changes to the labour model for changes to labour profiles, hours and wages.
  • Model the impact that local, national and operational changes will have on resource plans and costs.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting on labour performance vs budget and labour flex.
  • Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Experience of working with WFM systems and / or other forecast and planning tools (ideally Fourth).
  • A background in finance or mathematics, with an understanding of forecasting techniques · Advanced Excel financial modelling.
  • An understanding of labour measurement techniques and labour models · An understanding of hospitality, retail or multi-site operations.
  • Great influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Willingness to be out in restaurants to support, educate and challenge on all aspects of labour management.
  • Ability to work with and analyse large volumes of data at pace, and communicate simple, clear messaging from the results.
  • Ability to use technology to automate, simplify and drive efficiency.
  • An inquisitive mind, always looking to overcome problems and improve the status-quo.
