About the role

General Motors Financial (GMF) is looking for an experienced finance lead to support General Motors (GM) and GMF’s re-entry into the European market; focusing on delivering electric vehicles through a direct-to-consumer business model. The successful candidate will partner with GM and internal stakeholders to build and provide strategic direction on all aspects needed to deliver a full-service captive finance solution to our customers. The Finance Director will oversee all aspects of the financial operations of the GMF European business including financial planning, accounting, pricing support, and legal and managerial reporting

What you need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent area of study or work experience required
  • Master’s Degree in Finance or MBA preferred
  • 5-10 years in finance services or banking experience required
  •  5-10 years analytics and financial reporting experience required
  • 5-10 years corporate management and leadership experience preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Advanced knowledge in all areas of forecasting, accounting, and reporting on a financial services business
  • Must be innovative at analyzing issues using sound judgement and thinking strategically
  • Must be a motivating leader, showing commitment and drive results
  • Advanced knowledge of management processes such as planning, budgeting and financial analysis
  • Ability to interact with and influence GM and external partners
  • Ability to effectively translate knowledge into strategies and to implement them with positive impact to business goals and objectives
  • Proven skills in spreadsheet modeling and ability to operate in a banking/corporate environment
  • Strong decision-making skills with ability to respond quickly and accurately
  • Effective oral and written communications skills to all levels of managemen
  • Highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Must be deadline oriented
  • Capacity to process information quickly
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships to facilitate work goal completion

    What you will be doing

  • Oversee all aspects of finance including FP&A, financial reporting, controllership, tax, and treasury
  • Deliver strategic financial advice to GM, banking partners, and GMF leadership, be responsible for interpretation of financial results and develop financial strategy
  • Analyze and report on financial data and KPIs
  • Support the Operation’s leadership and GM to ensure the business is run efficiently and effectively achieving business targets
  • Lead the European Operations budgeting and forecast processes in collaboration with business leaders and GMF central team
  • Prepare cadenced financial packages for all internal audiences
  • Participate in the oversight and management of banking partners
  • Support central accounting in preparation of financial statements and GAAP reporting
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Conform with all company policies and procedures
  • Support Pricing area of the business, ensuring appropriate governance and accuracy to external customers
  • Develop Pricing tools and recommendations for the business
  • Active member of relevant Pricing, Product, RV committees as required
