We’re looking for that special someone to join our established and successful company as a Finance Business Partner .

You’ll be joining phs Group, the largest hygiene services provider in the UK with 120,000 customers in more than 300,000 locations.

If you have experience in providing meaningful financial analysis, input and advice, and excellent communication skills to deliver incisive and clear management information, we’d like you to come and be part of our success.

You will be supporting phs Compliance , the UK’s leading provider of electrical and testing services with over 500 employees.

You’ll work directly for the MD of phs Compliance, with responsibility for the customer billing and credit management function.

This role is varied and interesting, providing commercial and financial advice, challenge and support to the MD and management team, working with other Business Partners across the group.

The Role of Finance Business Partner with phs Compliance

  • Preparation and management of the annual budget, monthly forecast, and detailed reporting and analysis of any variances, including plans for addressing any negative variances.
  • Providing proactive and meaningful financial analysis, input and advice on both operational issues and commercial decision-making; including pricing policy, business cases and capex requirements, and the tracking of costs and benefits.
  • Aiding the Managing Director in the orderly, profitable development of the business within the framework of the phs Compliance business plan.
  • Providing incisive and user-friendly management information to allow fact-based decision making. Presenting management reports in a consistent, cohesive and comprehensible way, interpreting variances and trends in financial data, and relating these to operational performance.
  • Preparing the Division’s monthly trading reviews and board reports and presenting meaningful results to senior leaders.
  • Co-ordinating the Division’s budget and forecasting processes, providing meaningful analysis and commentary to the phs Compliance Leadership Team and Group Finance department.
  • Ensuring that a robust financial control infrastructure and environment always exists and that the financial systems and reporting operate to the highest standards with financial data accuracy and compliance with legal requirements being key.
  • Working with the Managing Director and management in the development of pricing policies to deliver new business on acceptable commercial terms (including appropriate margin and risk evaluation) and on business processes to seek and improve operational efficiency and divisional profitability.
  • Working closely with the Billing and Credit Control Manager to ensure customers are billed correctly and cash is collected, managing cash collection to terms and consistently deliver budgeted DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
  • Produce high quality, accurate regular and ad hoc reports showing the performance of Credit Management in the business.

    The right person for the role of Finance Business Partner with phs Compliance

  • We’re looking for a commercially astute, proactive self-starter, based in or near Warrington – a qualified accountant with a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA).
  • We’re looking for someone with Business Partner experience within a senior management team, who understands the key business drivers that contribute to value.
  • You’ll have experience of sustaining profitability, quality and service standards using key performance indicators and ratios to identify potential issues before they materialise.
  • We want someone who can demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding, without compromising financial conduct. Someone who ensures that business opportunities are appropriately evaluated to minimise risk and sustain/improve profit margins.
  • You’ll have exceptional communication and presentation skills, able to contribute towards the development of strategy and policy across a range of general business issues.
  • We want someone who has an open and honest approach, who communicates positively, and who can constructively challenge senior managers to prevent any harm to the business.
  • We would like someone with a broad financial management background in a business-to-business service organisation who works hard, takes ownership, and gets things done.
