Leigh Academies Trust has a rare and exciting opportunity to appoint a motivated and efficient  Finance Assistant  to join our friendly and vibrant team.

The overarching purpose of this role is to provide a comprehensive financial support service to the Finance Manager and Finance Officers.

We are looking for someone that can demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, excellent prioritisation and also accuracy and attention to detail.

Please note:  This is a busy position and our successful candidate will be required to travel across 2 sites on a weekly basis as they will support Strood Academy (3 days) and Wilmington Academy (2 days). 

Therefore, applicants must have a driving licence.



The working basis of this role is 34 hours per week during Term Time plus 3 weeks inset.

You will be reporting into a highly experienced Finance Manager, and our successful candidate should be able to hit the ground running with a 'can-do' attitude.

This is a permanent position offering an actual salary of £20,597 - £22,441 per annum (£24,789 - £27,007 full time equivalent), based on experience. 

The working hours are 08:00am - 15:30pm, Monday to Thursday, and 08:00am - 14:30pm on Friday, however, we can be flexible.

Nearly 40% of our academies are judged outstanding overall by Ofsted, versus 15% nationally.

The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway.

In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training organisations, a large teaching school hub and is an accredited apprenticeship provider.
