GDi are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Finance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role.


As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for carrying out Finance functions for Global Design Ltd, and any other company as may be added to GDi’s portfolio and provide support to the Finance Manager and Accountant.


Key Activities and Accountabilities:

  • Review and process purchase invoices.
  • Process Employee expense claims.
  • Reconciliation and processing of Credit Cards to the General Ledger.
  • Generate supplier payments weekly via online banking.
  • Preparation of daily bank reconciliations & monthly cash reconciliations.
  • Purchase Ledger statement reconciliations.
  • Resolve purchase invoice discrepancies/disputes.
  • Correspond with Suppliers when required.
  • Production and distribution of Finance reports as required and requested by the Finance Manager, these may be daily/weekly/monthly.
  • Assistance with Month end prep, which may include items such as Prepayments, Accruals, revenue release, Fixed Asset Register.
  • Project expense tracking, including working with other departments to provide them with details as required.


Essential Skills & Abilities

  • Good communication.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping, Finance/accounting packages, reporting and management information desirable.
  • Competent in use of applicable software systems. Knowledge of Sage 50 and Excel an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience of credit control and dealing with client queries.
  • Ability to apply checking procedures.
  • Foster positive and effective working relationships with Colleagues, Clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Proficient in various applicable accounting systems and Microsoft packages.
  • Good interpersonal skills - Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Time management and prioritisation skills.
