Apply NowWe are inviting applications for a Finance Assistant to join our team supporting the University’s academic faculties. The role is available in several locations across the University’s campuses in the UK, including University Park, Jubilee Campus, Queen’s Medical Centre, Royal Derby Hospital and Sutton Bonington. Our Financial Management team provides a full range of financial services from purchasing, expenses, and transactional level support through to financial reporting, business partnering and financial modelling.
Reporting into the Finance Team Manager, you will act as the first point of contact in the Financial Management offices. You will be responsible for purchasing of goods and services, travel booking and expenses processing, and budget monitoring. You will provide a range of finance related support and advice to staff and students, via an open door, welcoming environment, and a helpful can-do attitude, so a customer service focus is important.
You should be able to demonstrate an interest in Finance, though previous experience in a finance role is not an essential requirement as full training will be provided. You should be highly numerate, with good attention to detail, and the ability to manage your time well and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines. We are looking for individuals with good inter-personal skills with the ability to work with staff and students from a range of backgrounds.

This is a fixed-term, full-time (36.25 hours per week) position available until 31/12/2024. Job share arrangements may be considered.
