A day in the life of an Ascent Finance Assistant

As Finance Assistant you will be part of a dedicated Finance team.

You will build relationships with our stakeholders across the business including our customers and suppliers, lending banks, professional advisors, shareholder support functions, HMRC and other government departments, Operations, Programmes and Site teams.

You will have the opportunity to experience both our headquarters and operating sites.

You will:

  • Have responsibility over four of our company management accounts
  • Manage inter-company transactions and debtor and credit control account reconciliations
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns for all companies in the group and annual PSA returns
  • Prepare all monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare the monthly sales invoice and monthly and annual customer reports
  • Prepare all payments and act as first point of contact for all payment queries
  • Support the procurement team where necessary


What will make you successful?

And you will have:

Good communication skills working in a finance department of 13 and in a business of 450 people across multiple sites

Good attention to detail and an ability to work independently and self-review work

Good time management skills to ensure deadlines are met
