Role Overview:

This position is a key role in Digital finance.  As Finance Manager, responsibilities will include overseeing end-to-end finance operations for your area of responsibility, balance sheet reconciliations, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects and requests.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Production of the monthly P&Ls and Balance Sheet, developing an in-depth understanding of the business operations and the related Financials
  • Key contact to stakeholders to explain Financial performance and position
  • Management and development of team
  • Management and production of daily P&L’s.
  • Variance analysis supporting daily P&L’s and month end accounts.
  • Ensure the management accounts team adheres to Digital and Group Finance deadlines.
  • Implementation of controls in line with the Group’s Financial controls programme
  • Production and review of the monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support on cost reviews with budget holders.
  • Support the Head of Finance with the year end and interim audits.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:

  • Qualified CIMA/ ACA/ ACCA accountant - PQE experience essential
  • Experience of management accounting essential
  • Experience with working alongside and influencing senior stakeholders; both financial and non-financial
  • Strong analytical skills required in order to identify and remediate risks
  • Ability to investigate, understand and explain variances and overall business performance
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal required
  • Ability to prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work under your own initiative
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Retail industry experience desirable
  • Experience of Oracle Financials and TM1 useful (though training will be provided)
  • A positive, flexible, enthusiastic and driven attitude.
