- Through leading by example, ensure adherence to JM policies and standards (including HR/EHS/Security) leading towards a safe culture focused on zero harm and encouraging and supporting ideas to improve EHS performance.
- Working with the Production Lead, ensure all safe systems of work are understood and complied with by the team, including adherence to Life Saving Policies, Management of Change, issuing permits and the control of contractors, and that effective checks and controls are in place and maintained.
- Working with the team, ensure they understand EHS responsibilities, supporting, coaching and involving team members in implementing EHS improvements.
- Understanding safe operating conditions of the plant, key department hazards and control measures to mitigate these hazards.
- Supervising Operators on an assigned shift to ensure the manufacture of products or to perform other routine tasks, and some non-routine tasks within established timing, quality and cost standards.
- Supporting the development of continuous improvement projects and leading smaller area specific Lean projects.
Requirements for the role:
- Grade C or equivalent in Mathematics, English and a Science (or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience of positive interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of a variety of different PC Packages including Excel, Word, Access Microsoft, SharePoint, would be useful
- Good understanding of Chemistry preferable to A-level
- Good communication skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook
- Strong safety awareness
