JOB TITLE: Demand Planning Manager

REPORTS TO: Senior Manager Demand Planning

LOCATION: UK, Leeds Thorpe Park

As we continue to grow, there is a need to extend the role of Senior Demand Planning Manager  within our global team.

OVERVIEW:

The Demand Planning  team are responsible for ensuring the demand signal that flows through the supply chain systems is pressure tested and is a realistic reflection of the sales that are anticipated at sku level to hit the Business plan revenues in regional and country in SharkNinja’s rapidly growing EMEA business. As a Demand Planning Manager  you will interface with Country Sales, Category Management, Commercial Planning and Operations teams to manage a process that looks at how a robust demand plan is achieved. You will also be responsible for coordinating a Risks and Opportunities schedule that shows potential variances to the demand forecast. The role is also key to providing visibility and management of the Excess and Obsolete process, as well as ensuring that product coming to the end of life is managed out of the business with minimal cost exposure. Another key responsibility is building an effective demand plan around key promotional events, such as Prime Day/Black Friday, peak trading season, to ensure that the demand signal is received early enough to enable the central NA Supply function to have visibility to enable production of the stock. This role would suit an ambitious individual with prior experience in a supply/demand planning function, who has demonstrated skills as a leader of a key area within a Business and the ability to communicate at all Business levels, being able to summarize complex problems into simple solution steps.

Here are some of the EXCITING things you’ll get to do (RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Lead and develop a team, ensuring that there are clear two way communications routes, individuals are able to fulfil their potential, either by formal training, experiential learning or coaching.
  • Support a process within the team, whereby data is turned into Business insight, with associated actions
  • Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators that show effectiveness of the Supply process
  • Develop processes and ways of working that support the growth ambitions of the UK/EU Region
  • Reporting on Shark Ninja weeks of Supply position highlighting any risks
  • Monitor attainment vs Forecast and react to findings.
  • Own monthly stock cover forecast for the Country, highlighting areas where there are shortfalls and develop plans and strategies that ensure full supply, including supporting a business case for further investment in supply capacity.
  • Identify excess inventory risks early and develop and execute mitigations working with Country Commercial, Sales and Logistics teams.
  • Provide an Opportunities & Risks list of SKU’s where the stock cover would support additional sales or activity is at risk of not being realised to enable Commercial growth targets to be met
  • Provide a Country Operating forecast, that can then be wrapped into storage and movement request.
  • Support the country S&OP process to ensure that there is an aligned view of demand and supply.
  • Define and deliver against key metrics for end-to-end supply chain
  • Collaborate with various business stakeholders across the organization to gather relevant data
  • Manage reporting and executing necessary actions to ensure alignment with forecasts
  • ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS (REQUIREMENTS):

  • Demonstrated functional knowledge and experience in concepts of Supply Chain, S&OP, and Inventory Planning
  • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills to develop the Demand Planning process, both weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually to ensure that there is sufficient challenge in the process.
  • Be able to lead a team of Demand Planners to ensure targets are balanced and achieved, recognize strengths in the team and developing them.
  • Ability to multi-task and time manage independently; ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, feeling comfortable to challenge at all levels and follow-through ideas and concepts to delivery.
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint; Domo/Power BI knowledge an advantage
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and comfort working in a dynamic, fun, fast-paced environment.
  • A team oriented and collaborative approach. Proven results building effective long-term relationships at all levels, internally and externally, and go the extra mile for customers.
  • Ability to communicate for impact, both in writing and verbally.
  • Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Supply/Demand Planning function
  • Previous experience in consumer goods industry is preferred.
  • Experience of using BI system desirable (Domo/Power BI or similar)
  • Experience of using demand and supply planning software desirable (Blue Yonder an advantage)
