Credit Control Clerk in Leeds

Robert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting a new role of Credit controller for a distribution business based in West Leeds, the business are going from strength to strength and are now looking to expand the team by one member. The team are looking for an experienced credit controller to join the team to aid in the growth of this multi-site UK business

Reporting into the Financial Controller, key duties of the Assistant Accountant will include:

• Opening new accounts, including obtaining credit checks/references/upfront payment.
• Logging queries and following through to satisfactory resolution.
• Carrying out account reconciliations as required.
• Taking credit card payments from customers.
• Counting accurately recording cash and cheques received from Drivers and Trade Counter.
• Communicating with Sales team.
• Monitoring orders on hold and releasing when required.
• Issuing 7-day letters and legal proceedings if required.
• Monitoring a centralised email inbox and dealing with emails within 24 hours.

To be considered for this role we are looking for candidates with the following:

• An excellent phone manner and communication skills
• The ability to work independently and part of team
• Previous experience working within a high-volume credit control environment
• The ability to resolve queries
• Good Excel skills
• Ability to prioritise workload
• Experience of Invoice Financing is an advantage although training will be provided.

In return, the successful candidate will receive the following:

£26,000 - £28,000
