MacTaggart Scott are looking to recruit a Control Panel Design Engineer to work in our Design Department.
Role:
This role reports directly into the Electrical and Controls Principal Engineer. The purpose of the role is to be responsible for designing electrical control panels/systems that will be manufactured and tested in-house.
Duties will include:
- Design control panels using:
-Relay Logic
-PLCs
-Variable Frequency Drives
-HMI/SCADA
- Produce drawings, bill of materials and technical documentation.
- Generate concept designs for manufacture and test in-house.
- Oversee in-house manufacture and test of control panels.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Support the wider business (bids, manufacture & test, post design services, etc.)
Essential skills, experience and knowledge requirements:
The successful candidate must;
- Be degree educated in Control/Electrical Engineering or relevant Apprenticeship with HNC.
- Have previous experience of control panel design.
- Experience of preparing technical documentation and drawings.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Skilled in the use of MS Office products.
- Familiarity of related standards (BS, EN, 18th Edition, etc.).
