Balfour Beatty VINCI is proud to be designing and building a 90KM stretch of the West Midlands section of HS2. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Contracts Responsible Engineer within the Design and Engineering team.This role will be based on site in Birmingham city centre. Our flagship site Curzon Street will cover a 5 KM stretch and be the main station for HS2. The site will be responsible for 3 sections Curzon, Saltley and Washwood heath. The work will involve viaducts, underbridges and retaining structures.Role description: Accountability for the day-to-day management and coordination of the technical and engineering activity on a specific sublot for Civil Engineering Construction aspects where there is a Rail Interface on the BBV JV HS2 works.Experienced required :Technical / professional engineering qualifications and training records.Practicing specialist in civil engineering construction of large / complex civil engineering structures in live railway environment.Knowledge and experience of asset design and construction practice including compliance managementKnowledge and experience in procurement of sub-contractors / suppliers on railway.Good knowledge of railway civil engineering standards including but not restricted to NR/L2/CIV/003.Understanding of the CEM and CRE in NR/L2/INI/02009 Engineering Management of Projects and Temporary Works (as described in BS5975).Familiar with the H&S aspects of design and construction (risk assessments).Understands the requirements, roles and responsibilities with regard to CDM & CSM-RA Regulations.Monitoring engineering activities regarding competence, safety, environment, cost, programme, information, testing and commissioning.Please note candidates will need to have a current valid right to work in the UK to be considered for this roleBenefits of working with us :• Flexible working• Remote working• Enhanced maternity and paternity• Access to Employee Assistant programmes• Annual flu vaccinations• Healthcare• Excellent pension contributions • Travel allowance for eligible candidates• Car/ car allowanceAbout Balfour Beatty VINCIWorking together for over 30 years, Balfour Beatty VINCI have been successful in delivering several significant infrastructures; creating unrivalled expertise and capability across rail, highways and aviation sectors in the UK and beyond.
