Job Purpose

As a SW Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining and overseeing all compliance activities related to software under ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems – Requirements), ISO 90003 (Guidelines for the application of ISO 9001:2015 to computer software), IEC 61508 (Functional safety of electrical/electronic/programmable electronic safety-related systems), IEC 62443 (guidelines and best practices for the security of industrial automation and control systems) and API Q1 (Quality Management System Requirements for Organizations Providing Products for the Petroleum and Natural Gas Industry). You will play a crucial role in creating a culture of excellence, process improvement.

Job Responsibilities

1. ISO 90003 Implementation:

  • Develop and implement the ISO 90003 Software Quality Management System to enhance overall operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process gaps, develop improvement proposals, preventive and corrective actions, and establish robust quality control measures.

  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and 90003 standards and facilitate external audits as required.

  • Ensuring the related procedures are being followed throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Support process owners in periodic process effectiveness analysis and identification of improvements as well as corrective and preventive actions.

  • 2. IEC 61508 & IEC 62443 Implementation:

  • Help software development teams to properly interpret the requirements of IEC 61508 and IEC 62443 to the need of the specific projects.

  • Collaborate with the corporate certification responsible persons, as well as the functional safety consultants.

  • Develop QMS extension addressing the requirements of IEC 61508 and IEC 62443 on the corporate level.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process gaps, develop improvement proposals, preventive and corrective actions.

  • Facilitate external IEC 61508 and IEC 62443 assessments as required.

  • Additional Responsibilities

    3. Training and Education:

  • Conduct training sessions for employees to raise awareness of ISO 90003, IEC 61508, and IEC 62443 requirements and best practices.
  • Ensure that all staff members are aware of their roles and responsibilities in maintaining compliance with these standards.
  • 4. Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Establish a monitoring and reporting framework to track the effectiveness of the implemented system and processes.
  • Prepare regular compliance reports for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • 5. Continuous Improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance existing processes to drive efficiency, quality, and compliance.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in related external standards and industry best practices to ensure the company’s compliance remains current and relevant.
  • 6. Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Lead and implement improvements in the SW Quality Management System.
  • Support functional departments related to QMS compliance.
  • Support QMS Compliance Manager Europe/Africa in organizing and directing QMS activities.
  • Lead or participate in Gap Analysis on new or revised Industry Standards Specifications.
  • Other activities may be required and/or delegated by employee’s manager.
  • You are meant for this job if:

  • University degree or equivalent qualification through experience
  • Track record of delivering valuable business results (improvement in cost, lead time, quality and operational efficiency).
  • Ability to build working relationships vertically and horizontally within the organization.
  • Proven experience in implementing ISO 90003 , IEC 61508 and IEC 62443 standards (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and functional safety in embedded development environment. 
  • Relevant certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor desirable but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge and working experience on different software development lifecycle methodologies (waterfall, agile, v-model, spiral, safe-scrum). Hands-on experience in working with agile tools (Jira, confluence), configuration management tools, data management tools.
  • Ability to design reports and define KPI's.
