Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Community Fundraising Officer to join our Mass Participation and Events Team.

The team are based in London; we are open to applicants to be based in either our London or Manchester office.

We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently.

Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment.

We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.

Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.

The Community Fundraising Officer will be a key member of the Mass Participation and Events team, where you will be responsible for supporting and communicating with community fundraisers with the aim of building strong relationships to encourage retention.

The post holder will also support the development and delivery of new and existing community fundraising initiatives, and provide administrative support, whilst working collaboratively to collectively reach team targets.

  • Experience of developing supporter or customer care relationships
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Confident in communicating with varied audiences
  • Excellent copywriting skills for supporter communications
  • Ability to organise a busy workload and prioritise effectively, working to tight deadlines
  • Commitment to giving supporters exceptional stewardship
  • Respectful and empathetic, always considering the impact on our young people.
  • Engaging, committed to self-development by engaging with training and continuous learning.
  • Proactive, always looking for creative ways of working.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Engage and steward community fundraisers by supporting them with their fundraising activities, answering queries and building strong relationships that encourage retention
  • Support the development and delivery of new and existing community fundraising products and initiatives
  • Manage admin processes, including thanking fundraisers, processing income, updating supporter database records, stock checking and sending out resources
  • Support the delivery of Centrepoint’s Community Fundraising strategy
  • Manage the development of fundraising resources needed for community fundraisers and products
  • Working collaboratively with the Mass Participation and Events team to support one another to collectively reach the team target
