We are looking to strengthen our Construction teams in both Advance Plus and Northern Ireland with a Regional Commissioning Manager, to support the mobilisation for AMP 8 in Advance Plus and the establishment of a team in Northern Ireland. This post is interim but expected to lead on to a permanent post in one or other region. 

You will report directly to the Head of Commissioning/ Framework Director You will deliver commissioning planning and commissioning activities for all projects in appointed region. You will also provide ownership of the commissioning process through all stages of a project lifecycle and achieving efficiencies associated with handover. 

Key responsibilities will include: 

Northern Ireland Water

  • Resource prediction, recruitment and management within the appointed region, working with Project Managers to plan requirements.
  • Day to day management and coordination of all commissioning and commissioning planning activities, including planning for process commissioning and testing.
  • Produce Commissioning Statements for ORC and Commissioning Plans if required, or delegate and supervise their production.
  • Carry out commissioning activities, personally on occasion, and by managing others.
  • Effective engagement with client project management and operational staff to: Obtain buy-in to proposed commissioning plans Ensure the effective integration of assets into the existing works without detriment and risk to service level agreements. Promote fast and effective handovers (including the timely delivery of all commissioning documentation, training, etc).
  • Develop and operate an optimised interface with the regional engineering team to ensure “design for commissioning”.
  • Prepare training plans, organize specialist training by equipment suppliers and personally deliver training, if required during the period of appointment.
  • Ensure all commissioning is carried out safely in accordance with regulations and procedures in the region.
  • Ensure all necessary Commissioning documentation is produced in a timely manner and co-operate with Technical Documentation teams to ensure timely delivery of O&M manuals.
  • Advance Plus Amp 8 Mobilisation
  • This is a time-limited appointment lasting until the AMP 8 mobilisation or delivery requires a full time Regional Commissioning Manager.

  • Encourage off-site testing and pre-commissioning activities by suppliers or others when planning for commissioning
