As a Commercial Trainee you will shadow and support members of the Commercial Department and assist with the procurement of material and plant, under supervision of the Regional Buyer / Senior Buyer.

You will also work towards a nationally recognised degree-level qualification in Construction Quantity Surveying.

Key Responsibilities

Comply with all Miller Homes policies and procedures and procurement plans

Take off and preparing material schedules

Expediting materials ordered as required

Managing plant

Processing requisition orders

Bulk order information entry

Material budget entry

Material tender enquiries

Maintenance of documentation library

Day to day consumables for site

General office duties for the Commercial team

Resolving invoice queries in a timely manner ensuring, as far as possible, suppliers are paid in accordance with agreed trading terms.

Collation of monthly plant hire data and communication of information to relevant Site Managers

Key Capabilities Required

Financial management and cost control

Basic knowledge of construction practice and materials commonly used in the House Building / Construction Industry
