The Commercial Manager is a pivotal role within the card payment services division of Verastar as it strives to deliver £8m of EBITDA growth over the next 3-4 years.

This role is responsible for pricing policy and profit improvement initiatives driving both customer and profitability growth, campaign management and revenue budget.

Responsibilities of the role

Develop strategies to optimise increases in customer volume and profitability including implementation and maintenance of pricing tariffs and policies, sales/customer incentives, multi-product bundles and targeted price increases.

Contribution to and commercial assessment / investment appraisal of proposed profit improvement initiatives.

Design propositions for new product launches, ensuring commercial viability.

Developing tool and processes to reduce revenue/margin leakage.

Ownership of the division’s rolling forecast model.

Ownership of bi-weekly trading and monthly KPI tracking pack, understanding and explaining key reasons for variances to forecast, with presentation to SLT.

Partnering with specialist Data & Insights team to develop KPI reporting suite for senior and exec-level management.

Monitor market changes and maintain detailed understanding of competitor tariffs, products and propositions to ensure our continued competitiveness.

Skills & Experience

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercially-focused role.

Excellent excel skills, comfortable in working with large volumes of data.

Specific experience in card payment services, telecoms, utilities, insurance or in a sales/customer-service-focused organisation.

Experience in financial modelling, forecasting and/or investment appraisal techniques.(Desirable).

Degree-educated or similar standard of education. (Desirable).
