The Commercial Manager is a pivotal role within the card payment services division of Verastar as it strives to deliver £8m of EBITDA growth over the next 3-4 years.

This role is responsible for pricing policy and profit improvement initiatives driving both customer and profitability growth, campaign management and revenue budget.

Responsibilities of the role

  • Develop strategies to optimise increases in customer volume and profitability including implementation and maintenance of pricing tariffs and policies, sales/customer incentives, multi-product bundles and targeted price increases.
  • Contribution to and commercial assessment / investment appraisal of proposed profit improvement initiatives.
  • Design propositions for new product launches, ensuring commercial viability.
  • Developing tool and processes to reduce revenue/margin leakage.
  • Ownership of the division’s rolling forecast model.
  • Ownership of bi-weekly trading and monthly KPI tracking pack, understanding and explaining key reasons for variances to forecast, with presentation to SLT.
  • Partnering with specialist Data & Insights team to develop KPI reporting suite for senior and exec-level management.
  • Monitor market changes and maintain detailed understanding of competitor tariffs, products and propositions to ensure our continued competitiveness.
  • Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercially-focused role.
  • Excellent excel skills, comfortable in working with large volumes of data.
  • Specific experience in card payment services, telecoms, utilities, insurance or in a sales/customer-service-focused organisation.
  • Experience in financial modelling, forecasting and/or investment appraisal techniques.(Desirable).
  • Degree-educated or similar standard of education. (Desirable).
