About The Role

This Director of Commercial finance will play a significant role in driving the FairPlay Sports Media business forward through its next stage of profitable growth and success. This role will also involve supporting, challenging and influencing other members of the wider leadership team in not only a finance capacity but as an integral part, and important voice, within the senior team.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the CFO in understanding the strategic priorities of the wider business and their financial implications, opportunities and risks
• Lead a capable and motivated FP&A team, together with supporting their future professional development.
• Investment appraisal of potential M&A targets and support with post deal execution.
• Proactively monitor leading indicators of the business to facilitate data-driven business decisions.
• Deputise for the CFO as necessary.
• Oversee the Financial Planning Cycle including the Budget and 3YP
• Identify opportunities to improve Gross Margin through cost optimisation and pricing strategies.

• So, what experience are we looking for?

• Minimum 10 years of experience in FP&A
• A proven Finance leader within a business that has scaled internationally with a SaaS element.
• A strong finance/accounting background in Private Equity and M&A
• Significant experience of business partnering with non-financial leaders and teams
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
• Passionate to develop self and others
• Track record in developing commercial initiatives which has resulted in profitable growth
• Looks for better ways of doing things and proactively takes ownership to see things through
• Flexible and open to change, able to cope with a fast moving and rapidly growing business
• An eye for detail together with the ability to step back and look at the bigger picture.
• Gambling experience is not a requisite, although an interest in this/sport/technology/digital marketing is likely found in the successful candidate
