Clerk of Works / Quality Control ManagerOne of UK’s busiest Building & Civil Engineering Main Contractors – Construction / Building – Public Sector Projects.Company:Growing Tier 1 Building Contactor seeking a Clerk of Works, this Quality Control Manager will report to the Directors of the South West and South East regions.The successful candidate will ensure the build is compliant with the Employers Requirements, quality of the site installations is consistent with the company’s BMS processes, and relevant standards and specifications are defined within the Project Specific Quality Plan. You will be responsible for inspecting construction work to ensure it meets standards and health and safety requirements.This role is a significant opportunity for professionals with specialised knowledge to contribute to important projects located within the South West & South East regions.You could be currently residing in either regions identified. The role will require extensive travel to various sites and offices within the Regional Building Business Unit.Projects range in value from £5m to £100m and are predominantly in the Health, Education, Defence and Commercial sectors.Role:As Clerk of Works your role will include: * Oversee the quality and safety of work on construction sites. * Attend onsite meetings and provide technical insights specific building and construction. Conduct regular site inspections and document findings. * Ensure that construction plans and specifications are followed correctly. * Ensure all technical documents relative to site quality control/ inspections are at current status and uploaded onto A site for future audits, evidence and substantiation. * Measuring and quality checking building materials * Identifying defects and suggesting ways to correct them. * Monitoring progress and reporting to construction managers, designers, and clients * Keeping detailed records of work * Referring to plans and taking photographs of work, along with measurements and samples * Liaising with contractors, engineers, and surveyors * Checking that building regulations, health and safety, legal and ecological requirements are met. * Working between an office and construction sites. * Assist and support in the new BMS roll out with the Quality Assurance Managers across the business. (Stress test and obtain feedback) * Coach and mentor site teams on quality control. * Share lessons learnt across regions to drive future training initiatives and ensure continuous improvement.Requirements:To be considered for this Clerk of Works role you must meet the following criteria:- Knowledge of the Building Sector.- Previous employment as a Clerk of Works, Quality Control Manager or equivalent.-Ideally previous experience on public sector projects..- Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).-Previous experience in quality and inspections in projects of a similar size and complexity-Preference for membership of a professional Institute i.e. Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI)Remuneration:The successful Clerk of Works will receive:*Competitive Basic (Dependent on experience)*Car Allowance*Healthcare*PensionTo be considered for this vacancy or to find out more information please apply now.Services advertised by Talk Recruitment are that of an employment business and/or agency
