Location: NHS Resolution’s Leeds offices – hybrid working or fully remote

Contract: Permanent

This role offers flexible working with a possibility to work fully remotely or in a hybrid or fully office-based setting from our Leeds Offices at 7 & 8 Wellington Place, Leeds, LS1 4AP.

About NHS Resolution:

NHS Resolution is a not-for-profit arm’s length of the NHS working for health care providers to resolve claims fairly and to share learning across the NHS and beyond. We provide a supportive environment for our staff with specialist training and the opportunity for personal development.

NHS Resolution operates several indemnity schemes, on behalf of the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, primarily for the handling of liability claims against English NHS Trusts and other commissioners and/or providers of NHS care.

The claims teams manage claims emanating from former PCTs and Strategic Health Authorities, which transferred to the Secretary of State. The Claims teams work in an interesting and dynamic climate, all contributing to a continually improving claims service.

The opportunity:

As we continue to grow, we are seeking highly skilled Claims Managers to join our team and to contribute towards the main aims of the NHS Resolution by proactively managing claims from commencement to conclusion.

This role will suit someone with an outstanding ability to engender trust, develop and maintain constructive relationships with external organisations and talent to manage conflicting priorities, paired with an appetite for personal and continued professional development.

What you’ll be doing:

The successful applicant will contribute to successfully managing claims on behalf of Trusts or GPs and NHS England. Case managers are responsible for their own portfolio of complex and non-complex cases and conduct the investigation, quantification, and negotiation of these claims to conclusion.

What you’ll bring:

In addition to having technical knowledge and experience of claims management in clinical negligence or non-clinical setting, and excellent organisational skills the Case Manager will also demonstrate:

  • Understanding of current law and relevant statutes.
  • Ability to draft documents and complex correspondence in a concise and professional manner (particularly in legal area).
  • Evidence and ability of managing a large caseload within strict time limits and conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work as a team member and collaboratively with other teams.
  • Exceptional customer focus and awareness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to focus on continuous service improvement and innovation.
