Founded in November 2023 by Sebastian Jory, Lynott Partners is a new absolute return manager backed by long-term private capital with $750m of AUM. The current team of five focus on UK and European equities. The business has the ambition and infrastructure to grow strategies beyond the core European long/short offering.

Role & Responsiblities

The CTO role will encompass managing and delivering on Lynott’s quant, tech and automation goals. As a the most senior non-investment employee, there are also some ‘CEO/COO’ type responsibilities like liaising with outsourced counterparties (trading tech, HR, compliance). This replaces a temporary ‘launch COO’ who worked 2 days a week, and is expected to take around a third of the CTO’s role initially, with the aim that much can be automated over time.

The core contribution of the employee will be to build a future facing tech stack, manage the automation and data science builds, as well as taking a central role in hiring and managing quant talent where appropriate.

Key Skills

• Highly proficient programmer (’10x’)
• Project manager and communicator
• Systems thinker, strong cloud service experience

Nice to have

• Finance experience with understanding of markets, companies
• AI native - experience building with APIs & SDKs
• Data science experience - perhaps proxied by Snowflake, kaggle familiarity
• Experience with Googlesheet & Excel automations, given they remain part of analyst workflows

Expectations

• Candidate is highly driven & motivated to produce best in class applications and automations
• Financial services hours than tech hours, however strong flexibility in working arrangements
• Start date before August (ideally)
