Job Overview

We are looking to recruit a Business Director to focus on managing client relationships, driving growth, and ultimately ensuring the successful end-to-end delivery of our research projects with the support of a small, talented team. This person will lead a small team of Project Managers, and work with the Research and Insights team to deliver research and insight projects for our clients, and is ultimately responsible for ensuring our clients are delivered amazing outcomes.

This role requires significant independent responsibilities and will provide excellent prospects for career growth. You will report directly to one of the CEOs and work closely with the rest of the senior leadership team.

Previous experience of working in a research and insight agency would be highly advantageous. Applicants may also have experience of working in a brand consultancy, or advertising agency where research and insight were a key part of their working process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ownership of our client relationships and client experience

  • Managing client relationships directly and overseeing / line managing project managers across their client deliverables and day-to-day work. 

 

Overseeing project delivery and resourcing

  • Working with the Research and Insights team to ensure the highest standard on every project, ensuring we maximise every opportunity and every brief we receive. 
  • Embedding best in class processes, systems and frameworks and encouraging widespread use of our tools (such as Asana) across the business so that we are working in the most accurate and efficient way we can.
  • Proactively addressing challenges, and recommending new ways of working, processes and solutions to address these.
  • Ensuring we learn from projects and leading on wash up meetings and financial review meetings - proactively suggesting how we can drive growth and learn from previous projects.  

Supporting the COO and Founder with new business opportunities

  • Creating pitches and RFP content with the support of the wider team, attending new business meetings and presenting company credentials and capabilities (across Research & Insight) with gravitas.

Team Leadership 

  • Getting the most out of teams and setting people up for success. 
  • Supporting your teams’ personal growth through coaching, mentoring and regular feedback, you will lead the team from the front and bring people together with shared goals, and clear roles and responsibilities. 

  

Championing inclusion and diversity

  • Leading by example in the way that you work with clients and your teams to ensure everyone has a voice and everyone has an opportunity to grow and reach their best potential. 
  • Proactively exploring opportunities for our business to become even more accessible and inclusive in our practices. 

REQUIREMENTS

Equally relationship led and strategically minded, you will know how to get the best out of clients and teams, driving insight projects through proactively and achieving completion at the highest standard.

 

Experienced in delivering research and insight projects from brief to completion, with an awareness of different research methodologies and the latest approaches. Having experience of inclusive research or research focused on diverse communities would be particularly beneficial.

 

Comfortable working independently and managing a team - able to get on and do the day-to-day work and step back to see the bigger picture as and when required.

 

A skilled relationship builder; great at managing with the wider team and managing and growing client relationships.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

  • The salary for this position is £60k-£65k depending on experience level.
  • We offer an unlimited holiday policy, an annual training budget, and a monthly wellness allowance for all our staff.
  • We are a hybrid team, currently working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in our office in Southwark, and Monday and Friday working from home.
