    Your Role

    The Business Director role is a senior leadership position within SocialChain, reporting to the Client Services Director with regular interaction with the wider SLT and Heads of departments. You will lead both through doing, as well as direction, and seek to originate and implement cultural and process improvements across the client teams. You will be expected to help shape operational, strategic and commercial best practice both internally and externally. You will help lead the Client Services team and contribute to the continued high growth of the agency. Success in this position will require soft leadership skills, a consultative sales approach and strong operational and commercial understanding.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team Management and Performance: Support the Client Services Director in creating structures and processes that deliver a cohesive and efficient team. Help identify challenges and shape operational/strategic processes within the team and wider agency. Ensure that all agreed processes are shared, understood and embedded throughout the team. 
  • Training & Development: Act as a senior stakeholder in the agency and team development structures. Use your experience and knowledge to identify individual and team needs and diagnose the best route for learning (teach, train, coach). 
  • Culture: Live and breathe the SocialChain, Brace Bison values and act as a positive influence on the team. Encourage expertise, ownership and accountability at every level of the business. Participate in and lead agency-wide initiatives. 
  • Profitability: Take responsibility for driving overall client profitability and resource planning on clients you are responsible for. You will be comfortable in revenue tracking and projections, along with workstream reconciliation and utilisation planning. Consult with day-to-day leads to ensure that commercial rigour is baked into client proposals. Lead annual client planning to ensure both short and long term profitability, with clear roadmaps for course-correction and action. Monitor team resource and performance on an ongoing basis to maintain profitability. 
  • Account Growth: Identify and drive new business opportunities across the Client's account, looking for upsell, as well as Group xsell opportunities in commerce, performance and media. Lead QBR and health check development, as well as sharing thoughtful good practice and insights.
  • External Profile / Marketing: Attend client office regularly with the team to increase profile and relationship. Represent SocialChain at relevant networking and new business events. Support the SLT and Marketing function in creating and delivering consistent and effective external communications.
  • The Work: Challenge and inspire the teams to create world-class work in social media and influencer marketing, always striving for strategic and creative excellence. 
  • ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in digital marketing, with a focus on social media and influencer marketing. Prior experience working with retail clients is highly desirable.
  • Managing single account with budgets of 1.5million+
  • In-depth understanding of the retail industry, including current trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive landscape.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience of managing senior client relationships and demonstrating a continued ability to positively persuade and influence. Have gravitas and credibility to partner with and guide agency clients.
  • Be confident in acting autonomously to lead senior conversations and deliver projects with minimal senior input.
  • Be fully conversant with the social media and influencer landscape, but also able to think and converse across the wider media communications landscape. This includes speaking expertly on the full SocialChain service offering.
  • Strong analytical skills, comfortable with reporting, with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of commercialisation of SC 'products’. Provide evidence how you have used key SocialChain services (data, strategy, distribution or execution) to inform strategies that advance client performance.
  • Have proven senior stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong communicator – be energetic, determined and proactive.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to build a compelling narrative when communicating with agency, clients and partners.
  • Experience in managing agency teams and identifying ways to improve outputs both in volume and quality.
  • Recognise and prioritise agency objectives. Work with resource and project teams to manage resource and expertise to consistently deliver against these.
