Russell Tobin have recently partnered with an established Life Science business, focussing on clinical trials for immunology testing, latent TB testing, to identify a Business Development Lead, within EMEA.

The company have the platform to design any trial and they work with pharmaceutical and biotech clients, globally.

The role requires a specialized set of skills in service sales (NOT PRODUCTS), particularly in the life sciences, pharmaceuticals, medical device, diagnostics, or contract research organization (CRO) sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generating and maintaining a pipeline of potential clients through networking and marketing leads.
  • Building a balanced sales funnel with opportunities at various stages.
  • Preparing cost estimates and quotes for potential clients.
  • Understand our win/loss rate and how we are comparing to the competition.
  • Negotiating contract terms and ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders.
  • Maintaining and nurturing client relationships to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
  • Providing excellent after-sales support to retain customers and generate recurring revenue.
  • Leading the marketing strategy to develop a strong brand identity and value proposition, decide on the right promotional tools, execute the promotional strategy.
  • Selecting and executing promotional tools and strategies to attract and retain clients.
  • Participating in the evolution of business strategies, including product offerings, communication, branding, and pricing.
  • Assisting with partner lab training, logistics setup, and issue resolution to promote overall business success.
  • Continuously improving the service offerings and sales strategies.

Skills required -

  • Over 5 years of experience in complex sales within the life sciences, pharmaceuticals, medical device, diagnostics, or CRO industries, where the sales involves multiple buying stakeholders.
  • Relevant degree in business, marketing and/or life sciences.
  • Prior experience selling services to B2B clients
  • Proven track record of winning significant contracts and delivering solutions.
  • Experience in the operational delivery of services, ensuring that client expectations are met.
  • Experience in forecasting, sales pipeline analysis, sales targeting, financial analysis, customer service, and project management.
  • Marketing experience to develop and execute effective promotional strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in winning contracts of significant value; delivering the contracted products/services and generating recurring revenue/repeat business
