The Role:
Most business analyst positions involve optimising internal processes - important yet it can become mundane work.
This Business Analyst opportunity at the Metropolitan Police is different.
You'll play a pivotal role in a force-wide digital transformation with the ultimate goal of directly impacting community safety across the UK capital.
You will bring rigorous governance to the Met's technology ecosystem by consolidating and vetting all solutions.
Strong technical depth, business acumen, and stakeholder management skills will be key as you deconstruct complex challenges and architecting pragmatic, secure solutions.
Currently, approximately 80 unsanctioned 'grey IT' services are operating outside central IT governance, draining budgets and potentially opening vulnerabilities.
You'll inherit this role from a departing contractor, continuing their work in setting the path for streamlined processes and rock-solid cyber resilience.
Partnering across all Met commands, you'll quickly understand stakeholder needs - from frontline officers facing volatile situations to senior leadership setting strategy.
With your business acumen and technical credibility, you'll build solid business cases for eliminating wasteful redundancies and hardening indispensable solutions against emerging threats.
The Met is the nation's lead for combating evolving cyber-crimes and upholding the rule of law in an increasingly digital world.
By optimising our technological muscle, your efforts will have a multiplier effect on crime prevention and community safety across London's diverse neighbourhoods and beyond.
We'll rely on you to proactively identify new pockets of shadow IT spend, governing the force's authorised application catalogue.
You'll enforce robust vetting of all proposed solutions, ensuring a lean, secure and cost-efficient technology ecosystem for decades to come.
