Business Analyst in Aberdeen

GDi are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of full life cycle analysis and documentation, including Terms of Reference, Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, Testing and Implementation Plans.

As a Business Analyst you will be responsible for the software needs for Global Design Ltd, and any other company as may be added to GDi’s portfolio.

Key Activities and Accountabilities:

• Ability to convert business stakeholders/client’s requirements into user stories / functional specifications for software developers to execute.
• Manage functional specifications and provide input to technical specifications.
• Ensure any development queries/clarifications are documented and answered within appropriate timescales.
• Work alongside company technical experts to meet business and associated software development objectives.
• Produce and/or review test plans to enable acceptance of developed solutions against the user stories / specifications.
• Management and reporting of bug fixes within appropriate timescales.
• Input into the continuous improvement of software development processes and procedures.
• Interface with other company departments to ensure effective communications of new product.
• Apply creative thinking, analysis, and good judgement to propose innovative solutions to problems.
• Work to defined project specifications, budgets, and timescales.
• Ability to Evaluate technology through activities such as programme trials and user acceptance Tests.
• Provide application support/trouble shooting to clients and wider GDi workforce where required within timescales as may be agreed in client contracts.
• Provision of support to other departments as required, such as tender processes etc.
• Project manage allocated projects -including developing project plans and timelines and tracking project progress.
• Acts as a mentor for less-experienced peers through both domain knowledge and leadership skills.
• Competent at preparing scope estimates for both man-hours and other requirements where necessary.

Essential Skills & Abilities & Experience

• Knowledge and experience of software development life cycle.
• Detailed understanding of full life cycle analysis and documentation, including Terms of Reference, Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, Testing and Implementation Plans.
• Detailed Understanding of commercial aspects to software development.
• Understanding of design methodologies and principals Foster positive and effective working relationships with Clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Proficient in various applicable design software systems and Microsoft packages.
