We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bricklayer to join our team for a contract role with the South Shields local authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of bricklaying duties, including re-pointing, constructing garden walls, widening doorways, and performing general bricklaying tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the local community by enhancing and maintaining public and private properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Re-pointing brickwork to maintain structural integrity and appearance.
  • Constructing and repairing garden walls.
  • Widening doorways as part of property modifications.
  • Performing general bricklaying duties as required.
  • Ensuring all work meets safety standards and building regulations.
  • Collaborating with other tradespeople and local authority staff to complete projects efficiently.
  • Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a bricklayer, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent within the trade.
  • Excellent knowledge of bricklaying techniques and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Asbestos awareness.
  • Manual handling.
