An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Accounting Officer to join our Recruitment and Pay Team providing a shared service across both Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East Councils in addition to council companies, schools, and academies.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a payroll environment. Knowledge and understanding of HR and Payroll, Pensions and Tax calculations are essential, UNIT ERP system knowledge would be beneficial. This exciting Accounting Officer vacancy will play a key role undertaking a range of technical tasks to reconcile multiple payrolls for all employees, schools, and Council Businesses.

In addition to the above this role would suit someone with Good Excel skills, Pivot look ups experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office, an out-going personality; excellent communication skills; a pro-active and positive attitude with strong organisational and multitasking skills; who can manage pressure effectively and work on own initiative within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

  • Reconcile Payrolls
  • Calculations
  • Liaising with Staff and Managers from other Departments.
  • Payments & Balances matching
