Recently, we have launched a cosy puzzle game Squarelets on iOS. The game was very well-received during showcases on gaming festivals and is now getting featured on the Apple Store. Now, we are looking forward to bringing the game from its native Swift version to Unity to present it to all enthusiastic Android-users.

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Unity Developer to join our agile team on a contract basis (outside IR35) to bring our puzzle game Squarelets to Unity. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in Unity development and be well-versed in Android development. 

You will work closely with the rest of the team, first creating a feature parity with the iOS version and then developing new features. This role offers flexibility and is perfect for someone who thrives in a remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality mobile games using Unity.
• Collaborate with the team to translate creative concepts into functional and engaging games.
• Optimise game performance for a wide range of Android devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, crashes, and other technical issues.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Unity development.
• Strong knowledge of Android development and deployment.
• Proficient in C# and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with performance optimization and memory management in Unity.
• Solid understanding of game design principles and player experience.
• Ability to work independently, manage time and collaborate in a remote first environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with other mobile platforms (iOS, PC).
• Previous experience with design systems
• Good eye for design

Salary range

£175 - £220 per day
