•We are looking to recruit an individual with passion for the industry into our growing team. This role will be working alongside a senior Investment Manager to assist in the management of his clients.
•The role will consist of helping to manage portfolios as well as administrative tasks and client handling aspects.
•We are happy to provide full training for the role, as well as offering access to formal industry qualifications and we work collaboratively to achieve the team’s goal. To progress towards being an Investment Manager.

As a Trainee Investment Manager you’ll be part of a team, aiding the client experience, with your roles including but not limited to:

Producing investment proposal documents

Preparing client review presentations and data

Taking an active part in team investment discussions

Once qualified to a sufficient degree, rebalancing client portfolios and helping to manage client relationships

Processing payments and using your discretion as to where to raise cash or invest new funds

Monitoring team investment models

Distributing valuations, tax packs and periodic commentary

You’ll be working very closely with our clients and their agents to provide the best service with information and reports regarding their portfolio, which necessitates close relationship building with our stakeholders whether that be internally or externally.

As your role is central within the team you’ll also be assisting in the general administration, these duties are varied daily but usually consists of answering the phones, preparing PowerPoint presentations, preparing suitability letters and maintenance of suitability affirmations.

Core competencies: We use the Microsoft Office suite on a daily basis so a good understanding of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook is necessary. The individual should be comfortable using Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, IF and SUMIF (for example) and be willing to learn more in order to streamline their role. An understanding of Macros and Pivot tables would be beneficial.

About You

Ideally you will have experience as a Trainee Investment Manager , or a Portfolio Manager role, looking for more ownership and progression.

To be successful in this role you’ll be an independent worker and thinker. You will be ambitious and motivated to work within an entrepreneurial, proactive team.

You have an interest in financial services or have a good understanding of our financial services where you can utilise your knowledge and experience within investment management. A good level of communication skills is required.

Ideally you already have a Financial Qualification such as the IAD, or level 4 CISI and are working towards the CISI Wealth Management Qualification (or equivalent) level 7.
