We are currently looking for a Technical Consultant 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Salary up to £75,000 dependent on experience.

The Technical is a key role for MM Flowers during an exciting time of change, transformation, and enablement of future business critical projects.

The role will be a key enabler on the delivery of significant technology focused projects, and the continual development of the digital landscape across the business.

Working closely with the IT Team and business stakeholders, the Technical Consultant will take a technical lead to design and build the technology platform at MM Flowers to enable the transformation of the business in alignment with the wider strategy.

The role will be responsible for ensuring that the technology landscape is delivered as per the agreed high-level design (HLD) and meets the expected business outcomes once delivered.

The role will have the ability to understand, and translate, architectural designs (HLD) and lead work with the project team and vendors to build out LLDs and ensure that the design is consistent and when delivered, integrates fully with all technology platforms.

Success for the role will be to ensure that the end solution forms part of a composable strategy utilising both current platforms and newly designed services.

Architect, document and deliver a new technology landscape, associated integrations, and integrated applications.

  • Delivery of solution architecture to agreed standards to deliver products on-time and on-budget.
  • Technical lead for the hands-on delivery and configuration of environments to meet the architectural designs agreed through the governance process.
  • Working with the Digital Transformation team, and partners to develop the technical implementation roadmap and be the key resource to work with our partners to deliver against this roadmap.
  • Identifying requirements and problems in the current as-built environment and ensuring that tasks and requirements are captured and understood.
  • Collaborate and work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure that an appropriate data strategy and approach to ensure that the data environment and integration platform meets business requirements to move data seamlessly around the ecosystem.
  • Ensure clear documentation of designs (HLD and LLD) and implementation of solutions to the agreed architecture.
  • Deliver solutions and integrations as per agreed designs through close collaboration with 3rd parties and strategic partners.
  • On delivery ensure that solutions integrate all parts of the business model including processes, operating systems, and application architectures.
  • Deliver “As-Built” documentation and knowledge articles to ensure that the environment can be handed over during service transition.
  • Analyse and understand non-functional requirements ensuring that all products and services meet these requirements and are supportable for future updates.

What you can already do

  • An Engineering/Software/Application background with a good knowledge of IT Infrastructure and Cloud delivery
  • ITIL Qualification (preferred)
  • TOGAF (or similar Enterprise Architecture) qualification (preferred)
  • A strong technology background with expertise in a complex manufacturing environment (CPG/FMCG) with knowledge of key concepts including MRP and integrating manufacturing automation.
  • A proven track record with demonstratable experience across ERP and WMS platform delivery in SMEs.
  • Experience in moving applications to SaaS and cloud-based platforms (IaaS / PaaS).
  • A strong understanding and proven track record in the configuration, delivery, and management of cloud-based technologies.
  • iPaaS or Microservice experience.
  • Demonstratable experience of engage stakeholders (technical and non-technical) to gain buy-in for decisions and approaches.
  • Analytic skills with the ability to quickly understand business processes and technical requirements and then combine both for the most appropriate solution.
  • Expertise in delivering business process and digital transformation.
  • Delivering technology projects within a fast-paced business, medium sized organisations.
  • Working in a controlled environment with experience, knowledge, and desire to continuously improve.
  • Excellent knowledge of ITIL framework.
