Teaching Assistants/ Support Staff- Wigan Milk Education are currently working with Primary Schools throughout the Wigan area who are seeking to appoint long term and day to day Teaching Assistants/ Support Staff for positions to start in September 2024.

We are looking for people who have previous experience working with Children in a school or child care setting.

This employment or volunteering experience can be within the past 2 years and can include Nurseries, Youth Centres or working as a Support Worker with SEND Adults or Children.

The role includes supporting the class teacher in the day to day running of the classroom.

This will also include working with groups of children and working with SEND Children on a one-to-one basis.

The ideal applicant must be passionate, engaging, empathetic and supportive whilst using their initiative on a daily basis.

Bookings can be flexible to fit around your other commitments but you must have a minimum of three days availability in any given week in order to apply.

We have roles that range from 3 days to 5 days per week and the working hours are 08:30am- 15:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:- Supporting the class teacher on a daily basis with what tasks they require you to undertake- Build a positive and supportive relationship with all children, colleagues and parents- Use your initiative and uphold strong behaviour management- Supporting groups of children and working on a one-to-one basis- Adapting your support style to suit all individual needsIn order to be considered for this role we require you meet the following criteria:- Strong English and Maths Skills- Previous experience/ knowledge of Phonics or be willing to learn Phonics- Previous experience of volunteering or working with Children in the past 5 years- Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident- Two suitable references covering the last 2 years- Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new oneThe Milk Difference:We are an environmentally friendly education supply agency providing quality talent to local schools.
