We have a 12-month FTC opportunity to cover a period of maternity leave, to ensure the great work put in place by the current Tax Manager is in safe hands. By covering this Tax Manager role at Refresco UK, you'll oversee all tax activities within our dynamic business. Specialising in Corporation Tax, you'll bring your expertise to the forefront, ensuring compliance and strategic tax planning. You’ll also lead and mentor a dedicated Tax Accountant, driving excellence in Indirect Tax management. You will contribute and play a key role in our finance team, contributing to our growth and success with your specialized knowledge and leadership skills. About you
We are seeking a candidate with quality experience in tax-focused roles and ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of strategic dealings with HMRC and possess excellent technical accounting knowledge. Staying up-to-date with recent legislation and accounting standards is essential for success in this position.

Key responsibilities of the Tax Manager

Lead and manage monthly tax processes in collaboration with the Financial Accounting Controller, ensuring seamless communication with the Group Tax Manager.

Lead the quarterly UK group tax reporting and review process with the corporate tax team, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Oversee the annual corporation tax filing process for the UK group of companies, ensuring timely and precise submissions.

Direct the annual research and development tax credit claim process, maximizing available benefits.

Maintain a comprehensive tax risk review register, continuously recommending and implementing improvements.

Oversee compliances and controls under other UK taxes such as VAT, Alcohol duties, Sugar levy, plastic packaging tax, customs and export activities.

Manage the company pension schemes, liaising with pension scheme providers, third-party administrators, and other relevant service providers.

Ensure the maintenance of insurance information, processing of claims, and timely and accurate renewal submissions.
