Role Purpose:

To lead market research for the footwear sustainability team and lead divisional regulatory sustainability reporting (including Greenhouse Gas emissions reporting across Scopes 1, 2 and 3) and customer reporting requirements .

Manage sustainability data for the Division and generate clear actionable insights which enable business units within the FW Division to deliver improved sustainability performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage key sustainability data across the Footwear Division and generate and communicate actionable insights that will aid target delivery across core sustainability metrics.
  • Lead and support on assigned sustainability workstreams designed to ensure delivery of divisional sustainability targets.
  • Participate in cross functional sustainability projects across the Division and Group, supporting delivery of our sustainability targets.
  • Liaise with different functions across the Division to compile and deliver key sustainability data enabling production of high quality and insightful internal management reports.
  • Effectively communicate sustainability performance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead divisional process of delivering customer data requests (climate questionnaires, environmental reporting etc)
  • Support process for Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA) of structural footwear components, including management of primary and secondary LCIA data through our EcoChain LCIA system.
  • Keep abreast of market and legislative trends that will impact our industry and related stakeholder groups, including new EU/US Directives and Brand requirements.
  • Lead divisional requests associated with internal and external audits and assurance processes.
  • Provision of ad-hoc technical support for customer/commercial requests.
  • Develop cross functional partnerships to drive the sustainability strategy across the Division.
  • Liaise with marketing and sales teams to provide key communication updates on sustainability initiatives and performance.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Strong knowledge and background in supply chain and products, materials and process sustainability.
  • Strong numerical literacy and attention to details.
  • High degree of competency with MS Excel.
  • Ability to spot trends and develop conclusions from available data.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to create concise and impactful senior management reports and presentations.
  • Self-motivated with strong sense of teamwork.
  • Good knowledge of the footwear industry and an ability to gain new knowledge with regards. to environmental reporting and sustainability.

Desirable

  • Previous experience within the footwear industry.
  • Further education in relevant technical or environmental field.
  • Knowledge of Coats sustainability strategy.
  • Understanding of customer requirements regarding sustainability reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative.
