As an integral part of the depot leadership team, you will work alongside and deputise for the Operations Manager to manage all aspects of operational performance, ensuring we operate a reliable and quality service for our customers.

The depot leadership team in Hoeford, manages just under 30 routes across the area and has approx. 175 staff. Hoeford forms part of the First South family, covering the South of the country from Uxbridge to Penzance operating local bus, leisure routes and private hire.

As Staff Manager you will be passionate about people and inspire the delivery of consistently high levels of service for our customers, delivering the brilliant basics, day in day out.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

To lead, inspire and motivate front line colleagues through effective communication, active listening, recognition, and empathy

To allow continuous improvement to flourish, encouraging ideas and innovation through Catch Ups and other positive interactions

To engage and develop an effective working relationship with recognised trade union representatives and officials

To be a listed ‘Site Responsible Person' for all aspects of depot compliance and governance

To be seen to lead, inspire and share Health and Safety best practice, by means of

campaigns, initiatives and promote a positive attitude to safety through your personal

leadership which comply with your responsibilities within the Health and Safety Policy

To understand and manage key performance indicators by analysing and managing

information, systems, and data both retrospectively and proactively to ensure

continuous improvement of service performance

To ensure collaboration between operational and engineering team members, to foster

excellent working relationships between drivers and Supervisors to ensure high quality

service delivery

Liaise with external stakeholders and attend relevant meetings to improve service performance
