Software Developer in York

Position: Software Developer - C#, Visual Studio

Salary: up to £45,000

Office Location : York

The Role: Our multiple award-winning client is again looking to grow their engineering team and are now seeking a Software Developer to join them in the York based offices.

The successful Software Developer will be joining a small team with the chance to take ownership of their PC Applications including new development, adding features and maintaining existing functions.

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified and be able to illustrate 2+ years’ experience within industry, your core skills set will include PC software development using C# in Visual Studio.

You will be developing a PC application used by clients to understand, monitor and illustrate data collected from a variety of devices.

You can expect to create new functions and tools for this application as well maintaining its core functions and existing code base.

Given the nature of our client’s products any experience or knowledge of embedded software, serial communications or electronics would be very useful.

Skills and Experience Required:

• PC application development
• C#
• .Net framework
• Visual studio
• Degree qualified – Computer Science or similar

Desirable Experience:

• Embedded C programming
• RS232, SPI, CAN, RS485, I2C etc
• Electronics design
• Bare metal development

This role will best suit a software developer who enjoys variety in their role who is keen to work on new product development working closely with a small team of award-winning multidiscipline engineers.

The main focus of this role will be to develop PC application software systems and you can expect the role to involve developing new products, enhancing current products, generating software from high level architecture to low-level implementation, supporting customers and producing accurate documentation for all requirements.
