RoleOverview

As the PIC (Person InControl) the Shift Operations Manager will have ultimateoperational H&S and site management responsibilitycoordinating and managing across Depot Despatch CX Collections andfacilities. At any given time there will be between 2550 people onsite at our depot and the Shift Operations Manager will support theManagers/Supervisors to keep these people safe and workingeffectively while on shift (working 4on4off). They will also workclosely with the Network and People Ops teams to ensure delivery ofthe operational resource plan and execution across variousfunctions and teams.

Success will be measured byour ability to hit sender SLAs manage costs and resources in linewith the network plan provide a safe working environment anddevelop a world class team. This is a senior role that requiressomeone with a background in operations who is comfortable workingwith several variables at once making quick and educated decisionsand managing priorities across severalteams.

Please note that this is ashiftbased role . You will work a 4on4off pattern (4days of work followed by 4 days off to rest and restore). Shiftsare 12 hours in length rotating between 7am7pm and 12pm12am. Theright candidate is comfortable with this kind of schedule and thenecessary travel to and from our North Woolwich depot (LondonE16).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects ofshift operations including Depot Despatch CX Collections andfacilities ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to operationalplans
  • Act as the Person In Control (PIC) withultimate responsibility for operational health and safety and sitemanagement during shifts
  • Provide leadership andsupport to managers/supervisors on shift to ensure the safety andeffectiveness of the team comprising 2550individuals
  • Collaborate closely with Networkand People Ops teams to execute the operational resource planefficiently
  • Ensure compliance with senderService Level Agreements (SLAs) while managing costs and resourcesin alignment with the network plan
  • Foster asafe working environment by implementing and enforcing health andsafety protocols and procedures
  • Facilitate thedevelopment of team members through coaching mentoring andproviding opportunities for growth
  • Measure anddrive success through achieving operational targets whilemaintaining a safeworkplace

Qualifications

  • This role wouldsuit existing Ops managers looking for a more dynamic company withhigh chances of accelerated career progression previous operationsand team management experience is a must
  • Idealcandidates will have spent time in a fast paced operationenvironment (FMCG Logistics 3PL etc.) at Supervisor/Manager levelor above
  • 35 yrs with some evidence ofprogression (e.g. promoted from Team Lead to Supervisor in sameoperation)
  • No qualifications required but CPCIOSH/NEBOSH or similar would be a significantbonus
  • Strong evidence of comfort working in afluid operating environment and comfort withuncertainty
  • Growth mindset with evidence ofbeing a change maker (not happy with status quo hungry to takeownership able to influence people to make changestick)
  • Great people skills with ability tobuild rapport but not afraid to have difficult conversations whenneeded with courage andcompassion
