About the Role…

We have an exciting vacancy for a Senior Town Planner to join our property team at EG On The Move.

Reporting to the Head of Planning, you will be responsible for a portfolio of sites with a view of obtaining planning consents for a variety of developments including new roadside services and other mixed-use developments. You will also be responsible for discharging planning conditions and addressing enforcement issues in a timely manner.

You will instruct and liaise with consultants of various disciplines to promote development through the planning process and post planning requirements. You will also be required to assist with team administrative tasks.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Planning Review - liaising with the Acquisitions team directly and coordinating with PMs
  • Produce site assessments for new opportunities to include policy analysis, planning history and advising on the material considerations to consider the developability of a site
  • Produce ad-hoc planning advice to the business to update on emerging planning policy
  • Kick off meetings
  • Advice on consultant team - disciplines and suitable consultant firms
  • Identify and follow up on specific planning issues with consultants and PMs and advise on project impacts
  • In House planning application - if possible / applicable
  • Work with PMs on planning issues arising including strategy to secure approval
  • Participating in review meetings with consultant team and PMs as required
  • Review draft planning conditions and advise PMs of technical planning matters
  • Attend planning meeting including committee meetings where appropriate
  • Submission and management of Condition Discharge - Highway Manager and Project Manager to feed in required work packages
  • Enforcement - In house management
  • Coach and develop the Graduate Planner to maximise their performance
  • Appeals - management of appeal process
  • S.73 applications - Submission and in house management
  • Consultant Framework reviews


Candidate Requirements
