Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Description:We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our esteemed client, a leading house builder known for their commitment to quality and innovation.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the financial aspects of residential projects, with a particular focus on developments up to 300 plots.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs.

Preparing, negotiating, and analysing costs for tenders and contracts.

Coordinating work efforts and ensuring project deadlines are met.

Managing the costs of projects from initial calculations to the final figures.

Performing risk, value management, and cost control.

Advising on procurement strategy and selecting subcontractors.

Identifying, analysing, and developing responses to commercial risks.

Preparing and analysing costings for tenders.

Allocating work to subcontractors.

Providing advice on contractual claims.

Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.

Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements:Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the house-building sector.

Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.

Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.

Proficient in the use of relevant software (e.

g.

, MS Office, project management software).

Strong leadership abilities and team management experience.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.

g.

, RICS) is desirable.
