Investigo are proud to be partnering with a very well known and prestigious university based in London to recruit their sought after Senior Product Manager post.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is wanting to take that next important step in their career to join an innovative and established team in managing 3 other Product Managers and overseeing product management across three core areas (HR. Finance and Estates) as part of the wider Digital and Technology service.

What is the purpose of the role?
Working to the Head of Product/Head of Service the Senior Product Manager will collaborate with key senior business partners - and with Delivery, Business Analysis and Development colleagues - to drive the development of one or more products or services.

At an exciting time for the transformation of the university's digital capabilities, the role will have responsibility for defining outcomes, ensuring effective prioritisation and being accountable for sustainable, measurable, and continuous product improvement, to deliver strategic ambitions.

The Senior Product Manager will be a key member of the University's growing community of practice in Product Management, be a trusted ally for stakeholder partners across the University and will support the Head of Product/Service and Directors of Technology to support the delivery of the wider university vision and ambitions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the product strategy for the designated area of responsibility in partnership with university stakeholders; develop and proactively communicate the prioritised roadmap.
  • Develop strong partnerships with suppliers to be fully aware of their short, medium and longer term product roadmaps.
  • Contribute to wider product and service strategies across the Digital and Technology portfolio, particularly where dependencies exist.
  • Ensure roadmaps are underpinned by the establishment of objectives and outcomes; define success criteria, build metrics that are able to drive the measurable delivery of value and establish regular reporting.
  • Lead on embedding an agile product development approach.
  • Lead and champion a user-centred, iterative approach to service/product development.
  • Where applicable, build/support the development of business and investment cases to secure additional or required investment.
  • Provide leadership to and drive prioritisation for multi-disciplinary teams assigned to the area of responsibility.
  • Lead and develop productive, collaborative partnerships with suppliers that yield shared value; develop knowledge and insight about supplier innovation, features and roadmaps to maximise opportunities for the university's services/products.
  • Owner of the release management process across business critical systems. Maintain awareness of product release notes and software versioning, determining value and priority of out-of-schedule upgrades.
  • Effectively communicate and showcase successes from the Service area, with a focus on articulating how value has been added from a user's perspective.

Who will this role suit?
Working as the Senior Product Manager in this group will give the right candidate a broad view of all professional services which are core to any large organisation. In this one busy and fulfilling role you will accelerate your career, help to develop the group around you, be part of a fun, sociable and dynamic Senior Management Team. There are very few roles out there with this breadth of exposure (often focusing on HR or Finance or Estates - in this role, you'll be exposed to all three areas). Equally there is a clear progression path from this role into becoming a Head of Product in the future.

Other Conditions
As a senior member of the University the following applies:

  • You are expected to work such hours as are reasonably necessary to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of the role.
  • You may be required to work such additional/different hours as may from time to time be necessary for the proper and efficient discharge of duties which may include evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
  • You may be required to regularly travel to other sites as necessary.

If interested in this opportunity, please apply in the first instance by no later than Thursday June 06th.
